What is a brand? How does your service contract program help your bottom line? If you were asked to create an online ad for your business, could you do it?
At Young Professionals University, held June 11-14 in Tahoe, California, the next generation of industry leaders got an inside look at all those topics and many more under the guidance of leading speakers.
In between having fun at networking and team-building events, the participants of YPU got insider updates from AVB/BrandSource and learned about new products and services available to BrandSource members.
- Agata Carlise from Beko Home appliances USA came to introduce YPs to the brand, which was only introduced in the U.S. two years ago and has already won awards and accolades for its high-end and sustainable designs.
- Sean Hicks of New Leave Service Contracts gave the audience a great and in-depth look at what a service contract program should be and how to make the most of it for the benefit of their business.
- Andrew Leonard from Google spoke to the group about artificial intelligence and the Google Hardware program.
BrandSource fave Tracy Krein enlightened the YPs on the difference between buffaloes and hummingbirds – the personality types, not the wildlife – and how they can learn to work together for the benefit of a business’ environment and bottom line.
Another speaker who talked about working relationships was keynote speaker and inspiration coach
Shannon McKain, who captivated the audience with a presentation on the differences in the values and motivations of each generations and how they work together. She discussed the different generations – beginning with Baby Boomers all the way to the newest, Generation Z – and how their unique needs and strengths can work together to create a strong work environment.
Of course, there was also vendor fair, which is always popular and gave YPs some amazing one-on-one time as well as great deals. And even better, three members won Google Home Minis during the giveaway. Congratulations to Jolene Mueller, Josh Bartlett, and Whitney Sands!
Thanks to all who came to YPU, all our partners and sponsors who made it possible and to our invaluable speakers. See you next year!
