Young Professionals in for frightfully good time at Summit

Every year as BrandSource rolls out the red carpet for members who attend the Spring Summit, it makes a special effort to create a great experience for its Young Professionals.

Typically newer members in their 20s, 30s and 40s, Young Professionals are the next generation of industry leaders and a great source of new ideas and fresh innovation for independent member businesses. At Summit, they receive targeted educational and networking opportunities as well as an off-site outing designed to foster camaraderie and closer connections.

This year’s Young Professionals networking event promises to be the most entertaining yet: the Haunted Downtown Nashville Tour.

Led by professional storytellers in period costume, the walking tour takes participants on a half-mile stroll to many of the downtown locations that are said to be haunted by supernatural beings. The tours are designed to retell the spiritual accounts and haunted history of those locations, including some of the city’s most recognizable landmarks such as the Ryman Auditorium, the Tennessee State Capitol and Printer’s Alley

Jennifer Baldwin, general manager of customer experience at BrandSource, said the event is meant to give the Young Professionals a way to spend some of their downtime together and create lasting memories.

“Young Professionals will have educations sessions and a networking happy hour at Summit, so we wanted to offer them something on the night off where they could have some fun but also network and get to know other young professionals in the same industry,” she said. “A lot of our YPs have become close friends at events just like these and now rely on each other as mentors and for feedback and advice throughout the year. We want the members to enjoy coming to these events and create lasting memories as well as friendships. It’s really gratifying to see these relationships build and to see how it helps each of their respective businesses.”
