Tod Bellrichard is an accomplished business owner, a Marine Corp veteran, a devote family man and now the new president of the North Central region at BrandSource. Tod served on the North Central board for nine years and when BrandSource’s Bob Dickerman announced his retirement this year, Tod humbly made the choice to step up and lead.
Tod has seen a lot of success in his professional life over the last 30 years, including his retail appliance store, Appliance Village in Rochester, Minnesota. His father opened the store back in 1979 and Tod purchased it from him in 1989 when he returned home from the Marine Corp. However, Tod attributes his success to his incredible employees.
He said, “I have the best employees. The one thing the Marine Corp taught me is, you cannot do anything without an exceptional team. I just have to provide the leadership. I am lucky to have good employees and not the other way around. They have made Appliance Village successful. I may be the leader here, but the employees who have been with me 10-15 years are the reason for our success.”
Tod and his team believe the key to their achievement is all about being able to evolve quickly and change with the times. In the past, Appliance Village did a lot of print advertising, but now they have shifted to 75 percent digital advertising, with the help of AVB Marketing. The store grew from a $5 million company to a $6 million independent dealer in one year with effective marketing strategies.
Aside from his professional career, Tod takes great pride in his personal life. He is married to his beautiful wife Meg and is the father to three wonderful adult children, Mitch, Brian and Stephanie. In his spare time, Tod is a passionate fisherman, especially walleyes. His favorite places to fish are the Mississippi River and he takes at least two trips to Canada per year.
Tod is looking forward to serving the BrandSource members in his region, and working to drive improvements, as the North Central president in the new year ahead. He said, “I felt it was so important to our region and the group to keep our Midwest ideals voiced through BrandSource. I am very proud to be a part of something as great as this.”
