In what has become a local tradition following the Thanksgiving holiday, local charities in the Flint, Michigan region are once again expressing their gratitude to Skaff Furniture Carpet One and its customers.
During a three-day Save and Share event Nov. 23-26, Skaff donated 5 percent of every furniture and carpet sale to charity partners. The event yielded $16,000, which will be divided among four local charities.
“People turned out despite the cold and the snow,” said Skaff Furniture-Carpet One President Dick Skaff. “We always look forward to our Save and Share event, for us it’s an opportunity to deliver outstanding values to our customers and give back to the community that has supported us all these years. For us these past few years Save and Share has been an exclamation mark on our Thanksgiving holiday.”
A representative of one of the organizations that benefits from Skaff’s generosity said the Save and Share event has made a major difference.
“We are just thrilled to have been included in this amazing Save and Share event,” said Mindy Prusa of Whaley Children’s Center. “Thanks to Skaff and the overwhelming community support, the money raised will provide care, treatment and give much-needed
hope to children at risk. The money donated as a result of Save and Share has made a tremendous impact on what we’re able to accomplish at Whaley Children’s Center … and I know the other organizations feel the same way.”
