Busen’s Appliance in Lincoln Park, Michigan, got into the holiday spirit by sharing its bounty with the community. The family business, which is in its 82nd year, participated in several giving opportunities that made a difference to its neighbors.
In November, Busen’s took part in the Rally to End Homelessness, which was sponsored by the local branch of the National Exchange Club. For this event, Busen’s donated a Danby microwave, valued at more than $120.
Next, Busen’s participated in the St. Patrick’s School auction by donating a GE microwave, valued at more than $200, along with a $100 professional install. Finally, Busen’s donated a GE chest freezer for the St. Anne Church food bank fundraiser in early January.
On its own, Busen’s also organized a successful sock drive for Lincoln Park elementary and middle schools, collecting over 100 pairs of socks.
In addition, Busen’s donated the proceeds of a fortunate deer hunting outing to a local food bank and mission. Two deer – the equivalent of 150 pounds of venison – were donated to the Wild Game Dinner fundraiser for St. Anne’s Church food bank fundraiser and to Blessed Hope Christian Church in Lincoln Park, which has a food pantry and serves meals twice a day.
