AVB Leadership Conference Outlines the Formula for Success in 2018

Region board members and leaders packed the conference room at the AVB Marketing office in Sacramento this week for the general session at the annual Leadership Conference.  As part of the 3-day conference, Jim Ristow, CEO of AVB, gave the assembled members a behind the scenes look at the goals, progress and performance of AVB’s business initiatives.

Part of this process included having the National Board of Directors review and rate each business unit which provided invaluable member feedback on the direction of the organization.

The goal, Ristow said, “Is to relentlessly improve every aspect of our business to ensure our members’ success and relevance in the industry. The process never stops”

Ristow also emphasized the importance of digital marketing in 2019. “9 out of 10 consumers are shopping online” Ristow said. “Our mission in 2019 is to ensure our members are there to bring those to consumers to their stores.”

Following the general session, the regions broke off into rotations for breakout sessions with detailed conversations from the various units of the marketing company and participating vendors.

Barry Kindy of North Canton TV & Appliance, Inc. in North Canton, Ohio was very pleased with the event, stating “this rejuvenates my energy and enthusiasm for the group. It is my job to convey this energy and communicate all the great things happening here in the marketing company and within the entire organization with the members back home. I wish they could be here to take this all in themselves. I have more confidence in the direction of this group than at any time in the past 25+ years I have  been a member. I have complete faith in the leadership.”
